Meet the West Hollywood Team Behind Vance Gate Repair West Hollywood
We’re a small, local crew serving West Hollywood and the surrounding hillside neighborhoods, from the flats near Santa Monica Boulevard up into the winding streets above Sunset. What unites us is simple: we show up on time, we name the price before we touch a tool, and we leave a documented record of everything we did. Adrian Vance started this company in 2014 doing commercial access-control work, and he built the West Hollywood team the same way he built the brand: hire people who can explain a limit switch in plain English and trust them to do the job right. No call center. No subcontractor roulette. You’ll know who’s coming before they arrive.
Our People
Marcus T., Lead Gate Technician
Marcus has been turning a wrench on gate operators since 2011, and he’s worked on more LiftMaster and FAAC swing arms than anyone else on our crew. He’s our go-to for the stubborn jobs: the gate that works fine for three days and then trips the breaker, the photo-eye that keeps losing alignment, the hydraulic arm that groans on cold mornings. Marcus is factory-trained on LiftMaster and BFT systems and holds a low-voltage certification for access-control wiring. Off the clock, he restores old BMW motorcycles, which means he understands the particular frustration of a part that’s discontinued and a repair that requires patience. His service van is the cleanest one we’ve got, and he will absolutely notice if you peek inside.
Elena R., Senior Gate Installer
Elena started in ornamental ironwork before moving into gate automation, and it shows in her installs: the welds are clean, the gaps are consistent, and the finished gate hangs square the first time. She’s led more than 400 residential gate installations since joining Vance in 2018, and she specializes in the heavier work, think steel pedestal gates and long driveway swing gates where the post footings have to be dead level or nothing tracks right. Elena is certified in MIG and TIG welding and handles most of our on-site fabrication when a gate needs reinforcing rather than replacing. She grew up in a family of general contractors and claims she can read a set of plans faster than she can read a menu. We don’t doubt it.
David K., Access Control & Automation Specialist
David is the person we send when the problem isn’t the gate itself but the brain behind it: telephone entry systems, keypads, loop detectors, card readers, and the wiring that connects all of it. He cut his teeth on commercial access-control panels before coming to Vance, which means he’s comfortable with DoorKing and Viking boards, Linear receivers, and the occasional Ghost Controls retrofit on a residential driveway. David’s specialty is diagnostics, he’ll trace a low-voltage short through forty feet of conduit before he starts guessing, and he documents every wire he touches. When he’s not chasing voltage drops, he’s building a model railroad in his garage, complete with working signal lights. Yes, he wired them himself.
Sofia M., Service Coordinator
Sofia is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m. when your gate won’t close and you’re not sure whether it’s safe to go to bed. She’s been with Vance since 2020 and knows the schedule, the parts inventory, and which technician is closest to your street in West Hollywood at any given hour. Before joining us, she worked dispatch for an HVAC company, so she’s heard every version of “it made a noise and now it won’t work” and she’ll get the details we need without wasting your time. Sofia is also the person who sends you the technician’s name and photo before they arrive, as our standard practice. She keeps a running list of every dog she’s met on service calls, with notes on which ones want treats and which ones want to supervise from a distance.
One Standard, Every Job

Every Vance technician works under the same rules, whether they’re replacing a broken hinge on a pedestrian gate or wiring a full access-control system on a new installation. The written price comes first, before any work begins. You agree to the number, and that’s the number you pay. That’s Haven Standard Clause 1, and nobody on this team is authorized to deviate from it. Same with the photo record: every visit ends with a documented log of what we found, what we adjusted, and what we replaced, left with you and filed in our job record. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every repair and installation this crew completes. If something’s not right within a year, we come back and make it right at no additional charge. That’s the standard Adrian set in 2014, and it’s the standard Marcus, Elena, David, and Sofia work to every day. Background-checked, uniformed, and accountable. That’s the whole idea.
